A strong storm over the Southern Plains/Lower Mississippi Valley will advance northeastward along a quasi-stationary front to off the Southern Mid-Atlantic Coast by Monday evening. Moisture from the Gulf of Mexico will overrun and pool along the associated front producing an area of snow extending from the Central Plains into the Northeast. The snow will wane over Northern New England by Sunday evening and Southern New England by Monday. The snow will also end over the Central Plains by early Monday morning. In the meantime, the snow will settle southward over the Northern Ohio Valley into parts of the Southern Ohio Valley and the Mid-Atlantic on Sunday into Monday morning. The snow will, also, be ending over the Northern Mid-Atlantic by Monday evening. Meanwhile, a broad band of sleet/freezing rain will develop over parts of the Southern Plains and extend northeastward into parts of the Northern Mid-Atlantic on Sunday, waning west to east by Monday evening. In addition, showers and thunderstorms will develop over Eastern Texas/Lower Mississippi Valley moving to parts of the Eastern Gulf Coast by Monday morning. Rain will develop over parts of Tennessee Valley into parts of the Mid-Atlantic on Sunday and move into the Carolinas on Monday. Out west over the Southern/Central Rockies, snow and lower elevation rain will end by Sunday evening. As weak onshore flow and multiple upper-level perturbations move across the Pacific Northwest and Northern California, rain will develop over the area with snow over parts of the highest elevations of the Northwest and Northern California through Monday.
