Strong storm over the Northern Mid-Atlantic will move northeastward to the Canadian Maritimes by Thursday evening. The system will produce heavy snow over parts of the Northeast through Thursday afternoon. The heavy snow will taper off to light snow, ending over Northern Maine by Thursday evening. Additionally, moderate to heavy rain will develop along the Southern New England Coast through late Wednesday night. An area of showers and thunderstorms will develop over parts of the Carolina/Virginia Coast, moving offshore by later Wednesday evening. Meanwhile, a front moving onshore over the Pacific Northwest will move inland to the Upper Great Lakes to the Central Plains by Friday. The system will be dry through Thursday afternoon. By Thursday evening, light snow will develop over parts of the Upper Great Lakes, expanding into parts of the Upper Mississippi Valley by Friday morning. Another front will begin to move onshore over the Pacific Northwest overnight Thursday bringing moderate to heavy rain over the Northwest on Friday morning and light snow over the higher elevations of the Northern Rockies.
