A quasi-stationary front over the eastern third of the country will have one wave over the Great Lakes that advances northeastward into Southeastern Canada by Friday evening. A second wave of low pressure will develop over the Lower Mississippi Valley and move northeastward to the Tennessee Valley by Saturday morning, continuing to the Mid-Atlantic by Saturday evening, pulling the front to the Southeast Coast. The system will produce showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Lower Mississippi Valley/Central Gulf Coast moving into the Southeast/Southern Mid-Atlantic on Saturday. Rain will develop over parts of the Ohio Valley into the Mid-Atlantic on Friday with the precipitation moving off the Northeast Coast by Saturday morning. With the second wave, light to moderate rain will develop over parts of the Southern Ohio Valley/Central Appalachians moving northeastward into Mid-Atlantic/Northeast by Saturday evening. In addition, snow will develop along the northwest edge of the precipitation shield over parts of the Great Lakes and Northern New England on Friday. Some rain/freezing rain will develop over parts of New England. On Saturday, snow will develop over parts of Western Ohio Valley and parts of the Northeast by Saturday evening. Meanwhile, a front will move onshore over the Pacific Northwest and move eastward into the Great Basin/Central Rockies by Saturday evening. The system will develop moderate to heavy rain over the Pacific Northwest, moving into Northern/Central California by Saturday. Additionally, rain and higher elevation snow will develop over the Northern Intermountain Region moving into the Northern High Plains/Central Rockies and the Great Basin also by Saturday.
