A storm over the Upper Great Lakes will lift northward into East-Central Canada by Tuesday evening. The system will produce snow over parts of the Upper Mississippi Valley/Upper Great Lakes that will taper off by Tuesday evening. An area of rain will also develop over parts of Southern Michigan on Tuesday morning moving into Southern Ontario by Tuesday evening. The associated front will move eastward to the Northeast by Wednesday evening while trailing westward across the Ohio/Middle Mississippi Valleys and the Central Plains. Moisture from the Gulf of Mexico will flow northward and overrun the East-West orientated front with showers and thunderstorms developing over parts of the Southern Plains on Tuesday with rain developing over parts of the Middle Mississippi Valley by Tuesday evening. The showers and thunderstorms will expand into Southeastern Texas and the Lower Mississippi Valley on Wednesday with rain expanding into the Eastern Ohio Valley/Great Lakes too. In the meantime, a closed upper-level low off the California Coast will move eastward to Great Basin/Southwest by Wednesday. The energy will produce snow over parts of the Pacific Northwest/Great Basin and the Northern/Central Rockies moving into parts of the Northern Plains to the Central/Southern Rockies by Wednesday evening. Rain and higher elevation snow will develop over parts of California through Wednesday morning.
