A developing storm over the Central Plains will lift northeastward to Lake Huron by Friday evening. The system will produce snow over parts of the Northern Plains/Upper Mississippi Valley will move into the Upper Great Lakes by Friday. Another area of snow over the Central Rockies that will wane by Thursday evening. Showers and thunderstorms will develop over parts of the Ohio Valley with moderate to heavy rain at times. The showers and thunderstorms will also develop along and ahead of the associated front over the Middle/Lower Mississippi Valley by Thursday evening that will move eastward to the Eastern Gulf Coast to parts of the Mid-Atlantic by Friday evening. In addition, rain will develop over parts of the Northern Mid-Atlantic moving into the Northeast by Friday evening. Meanwhile, upper-level energy will move onshore over the West Coast moving to the Great Basin/Southwest by Friday. The energy will produce coastal rain and highest elevation snow over parts of the Pacific Northwest/Northern California on Thursday. Snow will develop over parts of the Northern Rockies and into parts of the Great Basin on Friday, while rain and highest elevation snow continues over parts of the Pacific Northwest/Northern California also on Friday.
