Upper-level low over the Lower Mississippi Valley will slowly weaken. Counter-Clockwise circulation around the upper low will pull moisture off the Gulf of Mexico aiding in development of showers and thunderstorms over the Lower Mississippi Valley/Central Gulf Coast through Friday evening. Meanwhile, a front extending across the Mid-Atlantic to the Tennessee Valley will focus showers and thunderstorms from the parts of the Ohio Valley to the Mid-Atlantic settling southward to the Carolinas by Friday evening. In addition, an upper-level trough will develop over the Northeast Thursday into Friday. The trough will aid in producing rain over parts of the Northeast into parts of the Mid-Atlantic Thursday afternoon into Friday. Elsewhere, a front extending from the Northern High Plains to the Great Basin will slowly move eastward to the Northern Plains/Upper Mississippi Valley by Friday evening. The boundary will intersect moisture over the Plains that will produce showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Northern Plains that will extend southward over the Central/Southern Rockies on Thursday afternoon into Friday. The showers and thunderstorms will likewise move eastward with the front into the Northern Plains/Upper Mississippi Valley by Friday evening.
