Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 348 PM EDT Fri Jun 06 2014 Valid 00Z Sat Jun 07 2014 - 00Z Mon Jun 09 2014 ...There is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms from parts of the Southeast to the Central/Southern High Plain... ...Heavy rain possible from parts of the Ohio Valley to the Southern Plains... ...Temperatures will be 10 to 15 degrees above average over parts of the Central High Plains to the Upper Mississippi Valley... Quasi-stationary front extending from the Southeast to the Southern Plains will be reinforced by another boundary moving southeastward from the Upper Midwest. Moisture from the Western Gulf of Mexico will pool along the front aiding in development of showers and thunderstorms, with moderate to heavy rain, over parts of the Central/Southern Plains through Sunday. Showers and thunderstorms will also develop over the Southeast through Sunday. The second front extending from the Upper Great Lakes to the Central Plains will move southeastward to Southern Plains by Saturday evening. The western end of the boundary will dissipate while the eastern end will link with the quasi-stationary front. Then the eastern end will march into the Great Lakes/Ohio Valley by Sunday morning. The front will focus showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Central Plains/Northern High Plains will advance eastward along the boundary into the Great Lakes/Ohio Valley by Sunday. Showers and thunderstorms will remain over parts of the Northern/Central High Plains Saturday into Sunday morning. In addition, showers and thunderstorms will move into the Central Appalachians by Sunday. Elsewhere, upper-level low over Northern New England will slowly move northeastward into Southeastern Canada by Sunday.
