A quasi-stationary front extending from the Southeast to the Upper Mississippi Valley then southwestward to the Central Rockies will make very little progress southward along the East Coast, while the western half will move southeastward from the Northern/Central Plains to the Middle Mississippi Valley/Southern High Plains by Monday evening. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along and near the boundary from the Upper Mississippi Valley to Northern/Central High Plains moving into the Great Lakes to the Middle Mississippi Valley/Southern Plains to the parts of the Central/Southern High Plains by Monday evening. Likewise, showers and thunderstorms will develop along the eastern part of the front over parts of the Southern Mid-Atlantic/Southeast to parts of the Ohio Valley through Monday. Furthermore, upper-level impulse over the Western Gulf Coast will move eastward to the Central Gulf Coast by Monday. An area of showers and thunderstorms will develop over Eastern Texas and move to the Central/Eastern Gulf Coast by Monday.
