A developing storm over the Northern High Plains will lift northeastward into South-Central Canada by Sunday evening. High moisture availability and strong ascent will combine to produce moderate to heavy rain over parts of the Northern High Plains through tonight. Locally heavy rains may result in flooding over the northern Plains to the high northern plains, with the threat ending Sunday. Showers and thunderstorms will develop over parts of the Northern Plains tonight ahead of the cold front, moving east in tandem with the front into the upper Mississippi Valley and upper Great Lakes Sunday and Sunday night. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop over parts of the Great Basin and Central and Northern Rockies tonight through Sunday night. Meanwhile, a weak front will move south across the Southern Mid-Atlantic into the southeast US and then stall as a ripple of low pressure develops on the front. Moisture pooling along the boundary will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms in the Southeast, Eastern Gulf Coast, and northern Florida. Scattered showers and storms should occur Sunday and Monday during the peak afternoon heating over the rest of Florida. Additionally, monsoonal moisture and diurnal heating will produce afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Southern Rockies on Sunday.
