A front will move off the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Coast by Sunday morning while lingering along the Southeast and Gulf Coast through Monday. Moisture pooling along the boundary will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms across the southern mid Atlantic, southeast, Gulf Coast, and northern Florida Sunday into Monday. Locally heavy rain is expected as waves of low pressure develop along the front in the eastern Carolinas to southeast Virginia. Monsoonal moisture in advance of Pacific Hurricane Norbert will move into the southwestern U. S.. The added moisture along with diurnal heating will aid in developing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Southwest. This activity will develop over parts of Southern California, the Great Basin, and Southern/Central Rockies on Sunday and Monday. Finally, a cold front will push south from Canada into the northern Plains Monday night and Tuesday, with sharply colder air funneling into the region after the front passes.
