A quasi-stationary front extending from the Carolina Coast to the Eastern Gulf Coast and over parts of the Northern Gulf of Mexico will slowly dissipate by Monday evening. Moisture will pool along the boundary aiding in the development of showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Southeast and along the Gulf Coast through Monday. In addition, showers and thunderstorms along with regions of rain will develop over parts of the Lower Rio Grande Valley through Sunday as moisture from the Western Gulf of Mexico moves onshore. The area of precipitation will slowly wane on Monday to just near the Southern Texas Coast. Meanwhile, strong upper-level energy over the Northern Tier States will move into the Great Lakes by Monday evening. Light rain will develop over parts of the Upper Great Lakes through Sunday evening. The area of rain will move eastward to the Lower Great Lakes/Ohio Valley by Monday evening. Additionally, a new front will develop over parts of the Central Plains/Central Rockies on Sunday evening and move into the Southern Rockies/Plains while extending into parts of the Middle Mississippi Valley by Monday evening. The boundary will focus showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Central Plains on Monday morning sinking into the Southern Plains and parts of the Southern Rockies by Monday evening.
