Early this morning, remnant tropical moisture and energy from 'Odile' was slowly migrating away from southeast Arizona and spreading eastward into southern New Mexico and southwestern Texas---with heavy rainfall expected to continue into Thursday night. The heaviest rainfalls are expected to spread downstream into east central New Mexico, the Texas Panhandle, and central and south central Texas---with widespread 1-2 inch amounts over the next 24 to 48 hours. Isolated 3-4 inch rains are possible within the WPC excessive rainfall threat areas...extending from Tucson AZ to Silver City NM and generally arcing east-southeastward across a sizable portion of central Texas---from Abilene to Austin and the Houston metro area. Even though 'Odile' will dissipate within 24 hours, its moisture will linger over the southern Plains and southern Rockies into Friday night. In northeast Minnesota, northwest Wisconsin and the entire Upper Peninsula of Michigan---frost and/or a hard freeze is likely before sunrise. The cold temperatures move downstream into southeast Canada and northern New England tonight---with frost and/or a hard freeze expected tonight and early Friday morning for much of upstate New York, northern New Hampshire, and all of Vermont.
