Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 351 AM EDT Wed Sep 24 2014 Valid 12Z Wed Sep 24 2014 - 12Z Fri Sep 26 2014 The west-to-east progression of weather systems across the United States will slow to a crawl during the next two days, with large swaths of the nation getting stuck with the same conditions. Rain is expected to settle into both the Pacific Northwest and the Mid Atlantic, where coastal low pressure centers will circulate oceanic moisture inland. Showers are also expected to increase in coverage and intensity over southern Texas as the flow off the Gulf of Mexico increases. For much of the central United States a marked drying trend is in store, with the showers over the Midwest today by and large dissipating Thursday.
