Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 455 AM EDT Sun Oct 05 2014 Valid 12Z Sun Oct 05 2014 - 12Z Tue Oct 07 2014 ...Autumn weather returns to the eastern U.S. through Monday... Colder air continues to filter across the East Coast which will lead to quite a chilly Sunday morning for many. This cold air will stay in place by Monday as temperatures begin to slightly rebound. The West Coast will continue to be warmer than normal throughout the short term period in addition to the southern Plains also experiencing warmer conditions the next couple of days. In terms of precipitation, it will be less active than the last few days. The Great Lakes region can expect showers through Tuesday. Elsewhere, the northern Plains will get a streak of showers along the stationary boundary moving in a southeasterly direction. These showers is expected to arrive near the Mississippi Valley by Sunday night. Showers and thunderstorms become more widespread by Monday morning in the southern Plains and Mississippi Valley with the help of a frontal boundary in the southern Plains.
