Short Range Forecast Discussion...corrected NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 950 PM EDT Sun Oct 05 2014 Valid 12Z Mon Oct 06 2014 - 12Z Wed Oct 08 2014 ...Heavy rain possible over parts of the Tennessee Valley/Lower Mississippi Valley... A strong upper-level low over Western Ontario will be quasi-stationary. A spoke of energy rotating around the cyclone aloft will produce areas of rain over parts of the Central Plains/Middle Mississippi Valley by Sunday evening which progress into parts of the Lower/Middle Mississippi Valley by Monday morning. Another area of rain will develop over the Western Ohio Valley through Monday morning. Showers and thunderstorms will develop over parts of the Tennessee Valley by Monday. Another spoke of upper-level energy will move into the Middle Mississippi Valley and advance to the Ohio Valley/Lower Great Lakes by Tuesday. This area of energy will produce a region of showers and thunderstorms from parts of the Lower Mississippi Valley to the Central Appalachians into Tuesday morning. The energy will produce a region of rain from the Central Appalachians to the Lower Great Lakes that will move into parts of the Northeast by Tuesday. Rain will also develop over parts of the Ohio Valley on Tuesday. Elsewhere, southerly flow off the Western Gulf of Mexico will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms near and inland of the Western and Central Gulf Coast through Tuesday.
