Fast moving upper level disturbances will streak across the Plains towards the Ohio Valley over the next few days. Showers and thunderstorms over these regions will be mostly scattered. However, the heavier amounts will move across the middle Mississippi Valley beginning Monday morning and will continue to trek eastward over the Tennessee Valley for the remainder of the short term period. Precipitation will begin to meander into the Northeast and Middle Atlantic on Tuesday. By Tuesday evening, moisture from Tropical Storm Simon begins to shear into the Desert Southwest. The heavier precipitation will be confined to southwest Arizona by Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. There is a threat for flash flooding during this time period. A frontal boundary draped across the Gulf of Mexico will also bring showers and thunderstorms to the coast. The majority of the activity will be along the Texas and Louisiana coastline; meanwhile, the southern half of Florida can also expect showers and thunderstorms through Wednesday.
