A quasi-stationary front extending from the Mid-Atlantic westward to the Southern Plains will settle slightly southward to the Carolinas to the Lower Mississippi Valley and the Western Gulf Coast by Saturday evening. Moisture flowing northward out of the Gulf of Mexico will pool along the boundary producing showers and thunderstorms from parts of the Mid-Atlantic to the Central/Southern Plains through Saturday. Rain will also develop just north of the front from the Central Plains to parts of the Mid-Atlantic through Friday evening. Rain will develop over parts of Southern New England overnight Friday into Saturday morning, ending later on Saturday. Rain will continue over parts of the Ohio Valley into the Middle Mississippi Valley on Saturday evening. Meanwhile, a front over the North Pacific will come onshore over the Pacific Northwest and move inland to the Northern High Plain/Great Basin by Saturday evening. Rain will develop over parts of the Pacific Northwest Coast from Friday evening into Saturday. Rain will develop over parts of the Northern Rockies/Northern High Plains by Saturday evening. Elsewhere, easterly flow off the Atlantic will aid in producing scattered showers and thunderstorms over the Southern tip of Florida on Saturday.
