Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 356 AM EDT Mon Oct 27 2014 Valid 12Z Mon Oct 27 2014 - 12Z Wed Oct 29 2014 ***Unsettled weather continues for the Pacific Northwest*** ***Warm weather for the eastern U.S. and Deep South*** The Pacific Northwest can expect another round of precipitation over the next couple of days as onshore flow and a strong Pacific storm system moves near the region early this week. A sub-990mb low, associated with the post-tropical remnants of hurricane Ana, is expected to track toward British Columbia by Tuesday morning and bring a cold front near the coast, along with steady precipitation. Snow is expected for the higher elevations of the Cascades and northern Rockies, and also into British Columbia. Across the eastern U.S., dry and mild conditions can be expected through Tuesday as southerly flow develops ahead of the cold front over the central states. Widespread highs in the 70s and even lower 80s are likely. A band of showers and thunderstorms is expected to materialize from the ArkLaTex region to the Ohio Valley on Tuesday, and falling temperatures will ensue after the frontal boundary passes.
