Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 305 PM EST Tue Nov 04 2014 Valid 00Z Wed Nov 05 2014 - 00Z Fri Nov 07 2014 ...Heavy rains to continue across portions of the southern Great Plains into parts of the Tennessee and lower Ohio valleys... The southern portion of a frontal boundary extending all the way from eastern Canada back into northern Mexico is expected to remain a focus for deep moisture -- fueling widespread precipitation. Widespread moderate to heavy precipitation is expected to continue to fall across central to eastern Texas, northeastward into the lower Ohio and Tennessee valleys through Wednesday. By Thursday, the front and accompanying plume of moisture is expected to begin to advance more steadily to the east -- shifting the potential for moderate to locally heavy rains into the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic states. Further to the north, mainly light rain and snows are expected to accompany a clipper system as it drops into the northern Great Plains tonight into Wednesday, before reaching the upper Midwest/Great Lakes Wednesday night into early Thursday. Across the Northwest, moderate to locally heavy precipitation is forecast to return to the mountains of western Washington by early Thursday as another frontal system moves onshore.
