Low pressure over New England will be quasi-stationary through Thursday evening. The system will pull very moist air off the Atlantic into the Northeast through late Wednesday night aiding in the production light to moderate rain over parts of New England Coast through early Thursday morning. In addition, the storm will produce light to moderate snow over parts of the Northern Appalachian/Lower Great Lakes on Wednesday into Thursday morning. Light snow will also linger over parts of the Central Appalachians through Thursday. Patches of rain/freezing rain may also develop near the rain/snow line through Wednesday evening. Meanwhile, a deep storm along the West Coast will stream a plume of Pacific moisture into the West Coast producing moderate to heavy rain along parts of the West Coast from Wednesday afternoon into Thursday. Some of the moisture will move as far inland as the Northern Intermountain Region by Thursday evening producing rain and highest elevations snow to parts of the region. Elsewhere, upper-level energy and return flow off the Western Gulf of Mexico will aid in producing light rain over parts of the Southern Plains on Wednesday and Thursday.
