Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 241 PM EST Thu Dec 18 2014 Valid 00Z Fri Dec 19 2014 - 00Z Sun Dec 21 2014 ...Two More Rounds of Rain and Snow for Northern California and the Pacific Northwest... The wet pattern that began along the West Coast with the turn of the calendar from November to December shows no sign of abating in the next few days, with two vigorous frontal systems spreading more soaking rains and mountain snows across much of the far West. East of the Rockies, significant precipitation should be confined to the Gulf states, where heavy rains are likely as a wave of low pressure tracks eastward along the northern coast of the Gulf of Mexico. Seasonable temperatures are expected across the northern Great Plains and much of the Midwest as high pressure builds, with the best bet for any snow in the form of snow showers off the Lakes into early Friday.
