A front extending from the Great Lakes southward to the Lower Mississippi Valley will move off the Northeast Coast while a wave of low pressure will develop over the Central Gulf Coast allowing the boundary to linger over the Southeast/Central Gulf Coast. Moisture pooling along the front will produce rain from the Great Lakes to the Tennessee Valley that will move eastward to the Northeast to the Tennessee Valley by Sunday morning. An area of light to moderate rain will extend from parts of the Tennessee Valley to the Eastern Ohio Valley on Sunday morning, too. The rain will move off the Northeast Coast by Sunday evening while an area of light to moderate rain will develop over parts of the Mid-Atlantic on Monday morning. Showers and thunderstorms with moderate rain will develop over parts of the Lower Mississippi Valley/Central Gulf Coast on Saturday evening and will linger over parts of the Central/Eastern Gulf Coast through Monday. Upper-level energy over the Pacific Northwest will sink southeastward to the Central Rockies/Central Plains by Monday. Light snow will develop over parts of the Northern Intermountain Region/Northern Rockies will expand into the Central Rockies by Sunday and into Central Plains Sunday evening into Monday. In addition, onshore flow over the Pacific Northwest will aid in producing coastal rain and higher elevation snow over the Cascades through Monday. Additionally, cold high pressure over Western Canada will usher cold air into the Northern Tier States by Sunday evening into Monday.
