Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 245 AM EST Thu Feb 05 2015 Valid 12Z Thu Feb 05 2015 - 12Z Sat Feb 07 2015 ...Heavy rain possible over the Pacific Northwest and Northern California... ...Temperatures will be 15 to 25 degrees below average over the Lower Great Lakes/Eastern Ohio Valley... A front over the Florida Peninsula that extends northward to the coast of Maine will move northeastward out over the Atlantic. The system will produce light to moderate rain a long the Southeast/Mid-Atlantic Coast through Thursday morning. The rain will end over most of the coast by Thursday evening while waning over the Southern tip of Florida by Thursday night. Snow will also develop over parts of New England Coast on Thursday morning. Meanwhile, a front over Southern Canada will move eastward to the Great Lakes/Northeast by Friday evening. Light snow will develop over parts of the Upper Great Lakes Thursday afternoon into Friday evening and move into parts of the Northeast by Friday evening, too. Upper-level energy moving out of the Northwest will trigger light snow over parts of the Northern Plains into the Upper Mississippi Valley Thursday evening into Friday evening. A series of upper-level impulses will move into the Northwest from the Pacific. As the energy moves inland, moisture from the Pacific will move into the Pacific Northwest/Northern California producing light to moderate rain over the area through Friday evening.
