Low pressure over Lake Superior will move eastward to just off New England Coast while deepening significantly by Sunday. The storm will produce light snow over the Great Lakes that will expand along the front into the Ohio Valley and the Northeast by Saturday morning. As the system moves to the East Coast, snow will develop over parts of the Mid-Atlantic/Central Appalachians on Saturday evening, while heavy snow develops over parts of New England by Sunday morning. Rain will also develop along parts of the Southern Mid-Atlantic Coast by Saturday evening that will change over to snow before ending on Sunday morning. Behind the associated front, cold high pressure will move southeastward out of Central Canada to the Upper Mississippi Valley by Sunday morning. In addition, lake effect snow will develop in the wake of the storm downwind from the ice free waters of the Great Lakes from Saturday evening into Sunday. Meanwhile, a front moving into the Pacific Northwest will move southeastward to the Great Basin/Central Rockies by Sunday. The system will produce rain along parts of Washington State on Friday evening. As the system moves southward, snow will develop over parts of the Northern High Plains/Northern Rockies on Saturday that will likewise move southward to the Central Rockies by Sunday morning. Additionally, upper-level energy over Western Canada will move southeastward to the Northern Plains by Sunday. The energy will produce snow over parts of the Northern Plains on Saturday afternoon moving into parts of the Upper Mississippi Valley by Sunday morning.
