A quasi-stationary front extending from the Mid-Atlantic to Central Rockies will have waves of low pressure travel along the boundary. Moisture form the Gulf of Mexico will overrun the front producing showers and thunderstorms from the Middle Mississippi Valley to the Mid-Atlantic through Thursday. Snow may develop over parts of Northern New England on Wednesday. In addition, areas of rain/freezing rain will develop over parts of Northern New England on Thursday morning. Rain will also develop over parts of the Upper Mississippi Valley on Tuesday evening that will move into the Great Lakes on Wednesday. Rain will be produced over parts of Northern Mid-Atlantic and New England through Thursday. Furthermore, areas of snow will develop over parts of the Upper Mississippi Valley into parts of the Upper Great Lakes Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning. A second front over the Great Basin will move eastward to Central Plains/Southern High Plains by Thursday while uniting with the stationary front over the East. The system will produce snow over parts of the interior Pacific Northwest/Great Basin and parts of Northern/Central California through Wednesday evening. The snow will move into parts of the Northern/Central Rockies by Wednesday afternoon into Thursday. Rain will also develop over parts of Pacific Northwest to Southern California through Wednesday morning. Additionally, rain will develop over parts of Northern/Central High Plains on Wednesday morning that will move eastward into parts of the Northern Plains/Upper Mississippi Valley and the Upper Great Lakes by Thursday morning. The storm will also aid in the development of showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Middle Mississippi Valley by Wednesday evening that will expand southward into parts of the Lower Mississippi Valley/Central Gulf Coast while moving into parts of the Great Lakes/Ohio Valley by Thursday.
