A quasi-stationary front extending from the Mid-Atlantic roughly westward to the Central Plains will have the western end of the boundary move eastward from the Central/Southern Rockies to the Great Lakes/Tennessee Valley/Western Gulf Coast by Friday. Moisture from the Gulf of Mexico will overrun the front producing showers and thunderstorms from the Central Plains to the Central Appalachians/Lower Great Lakes through Thursday afternoon. Light snow will develop over parts of Northern New England Wednesday night through Thursday morning. Rain will also develop over parts of New England through Thursday. Upper-level energy associated with the aforementioned front will produce snow and lower elevation rain over parts of the Northern/Central Rockies will mainly wind down on Thursday. The energy will also produce rain over parts of the Northern Plains that will move eastward into the Upper Great Lakes by Thursday evening. East of the front and dryline, showers and thunderstorms will develop over parts of the Southern Plains and expand along the boundary on Thursday moving into parts of the Great Lakes/Northeast/Central Appalachians to the Lower Mississippi Valley/Western Gulf Coast by Friday morning.
