A front extending from the Northern High Plains to Northern California will move eastward to the Upper Great Lakes to the Southern Plains/Southern Rockies by Monday. The system will produce snow and lower elevation rain over parts of the Northern Rockies on Saturday into Sunday morning. The boundary will intersect moisture form the Gulf of Mexico on Sunday afternoon that will aid in the development of showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Upper Mississippi Valley that will expand southward along the boundary to the Southern Plains by Sunday evening. Light to moderate rain will develop over parts of the Upper Great Lakes on Monday morning. In addition, showers and thunderstorms will move into the Ohio Valley and extend westward to the Southern High Plains/Southern Rockies by Monday morning. Behind the front, onshore flow will aid in producing coastal rain and higher elevation snow over parts of the Pacific Northwest through Sunday afternoon. Meanwhile, moisture from the Gulf of Mexico will flow northward over the Gulf Coast through Monday. Upper-level energy moving eastward out of Mexico will move over the Gulf Coast and along with an old boundary over the Eastern Gulf Coast will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms from the Western Gulf Coast to the Southeast through Monday. Additionally, upper-level energy over the Central Plains will move eastward to the Ohio Valley will produce showers and thunderstorms over the Central Plains on Saturday evening that will move eastward into the Middle Mississippi Valley by Sunday morning. Elsewhere, an approaching front over the Pacific will bring light to moderate rain to the Pacific Northwest Coast by Monday morning.
