A quasi-stationary front over the Southeast will aid in focusing showers and thunderstorms over the Eastern Gulf Coast and parts of the Southeast through Friday morning. Rain will also develop over parts of the Southern Mid-Atlatnic through Friday. In addition, upper-level energy will move from the Middle Mississippi Valley northeastward to the Northeast Coast by Friday. The energy will produce scattered showers and thunderstorm over parts of the Ohio Valley on Thursday evening. Rain will develop over parts of the Lower Great Lakes and move into the Northeast by Friday morning. Meanwhile, a developing upper-level closed low will develop over the Central/Southern Rockies becoming quasi-stationary Thursday into Friday. The energy will aid in producing light to moderate snow over parts of the Central Rockies into parts of the Great Basin also through Friday. As the storm develops, moisture from the Gulf of Mexico will flow northward over the Central/Southern Plains late Wednesday night into Friday. Showers and thunderstorms will develop over the Southern High Plains and move into the Southern Plains by Thursday morning. The showers and thunderstorms will expand into the Central Plains and to the Western Gulf Coast by Thursday evening into Friday.
