Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 339 AM EDT Wed Apr 29 2015 Valid 12Z Wed Apr 29 2015 - 12Z Fri May 01 2015 ...Temperatures will be 10 to 15 degrees below average from the Southeast to Western Texas... A storm over the Eastern Gulf Coast will slowly move northeastward to off of Cape Hatteras by Thursday evening. The system will produce showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Southeast that will move offshore by late Wednesday night. Rain will also develop over parts of the Carolinas that will move off the coast by Thursday evening. In addition, upper-level energy over the Upper Great Lakes will move southeastward to the Ohio Valley by Thursday. The storm will produce scattered rain over parts of the Great Lakes into the Central Appalachians/Mid-Atlantic Wednesday evening through Thursday evening. Meanwhile, a front over the Northern Rockies to the Great Basin will move slowly eastward to the Northern Plains/Central Rockies by Thursday. The boundary will intersect a plume of moisture over the Northern High Plains that will aid in producing afternoon/evening showers and thunderstorms and morning and nighttime rain over parts of the Northern High Plains that will move eastward to the Northern Plains to the Central Rockies Wednesday evening into Thursday. Elsewhere, upper-level low slowly moving off away from the Northeast will produce light rain over parts of Northern New England through Thursday.
