A front extending from the Upper/Lower Great Lakes roughly southwestward to the Central Plains will fluctuate north and south over the area through Sunday. Moisture pooling along the boundary will trigger showers and thunderstorms from the Central/Southern Plains to the Great Lakes that will move into parts of the Ohio Valley and the Lower Great Lakes by Saturday evening/Sunday. Rain will also develop over parts of the Northeast on Saturday into Sunday. Meanwhile, a closed upper-level low over the Southwest will move northeastward to the Central Plains by Sunday. The energy will produce a wave of low pressure over the Southern Plains and develop a cold front over the Southern/Central High Plains by Saturday evening into Sunday morning. The system will produce snow at the highest elevations over parts of the Northern/Central Rockies and Great Basin Friday night. Rain will develop over the lower elevations from the Great Basin to parts of the Northern/Central Rockies through Saturday morning. The snow levels will lower producing snow over parts of the Great Basin and the Northern/Central Rockies by Saturday morning that will move into parts of the Northern/Central High Plains by Sunday morning. A head of the snow, showers and thunderstorms will develop over parts of the Central High Plains Saturday into Sunday morning. Rain will also develop over parts of the Northern High Plain Friday evening into Saturday morning that will move eastward and expand over the Northern Plain into the Upper Great Lakes by Sunday morning. Subtropical Storm Ana will slowly move northward off the Southeast Coast to near the Carolina Coast by Sunday morning. The storm is forecast to produce showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Southeast Coast into parts of the Southern Mid-Atlantic Coast by Sunday.
