An upper-level low over the Southeast will slowly move off the Southeast Coast by Saturday. The system will produce showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Southeast through Friday night. Rain will also develop over parts of the Mid-Atlantic ending by Friday afternoon. A front extending from the Great Lakes to the Central High Plains will slowly move eastward to off the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Coast while stretching westward to the Central Plains/Lower Mississippi Valley by Saturday. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along and near parts of the boundary from the Great Lakes to the Central High Plains that will likewise move to the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic and over parts of the Middle Mississippi Valley and Northern/Central Plains by Saturday. Meanwhile, upper-level trough over the western third of the country along with upslope flow and diurnal heating will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Northern/Central Rockies through Thursday evening. In addition, a developing upper-level low over California will be quasi-stationary through Saturday. The energy will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of California eastward to the Central/Southern Rockies through Saturday, too.
