A front extending from the Northern Appalachians/Lower Great Lakes roughly westward to the Northern/Central High Plains will move eastward off the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Coast while extending westward from the Mid-Atlantic to the Upper/Middle Mississippi Valley and southward to the Southern High Plains by Friday. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along and near the boundary from the Northern Appalachians to the Middle Mississippi Valley to the Northern High Plains by Wednesday evening. The showers and thunderstorms over the Northern Appalachians/Lower Great Lakes will move eastward off the Northeast Coast by later Thursday morning. Moisture from the Gulf of Mexico will move northward over the Plains and intersect the front producing showers and thunderstorms from the Northern High Plains to parts of the Ohio Valley from Wednesday night into Thursday morning. The showers and thunderstorms will move southward into the Southern Plains/Central High Plains and into the Middle Mississippi Valley/Western Ohio Valley by Friday. Rain will develop over parts of the Upper Mississippi Valley/Upper Great Lakes and move into the Great Lakes Thursday afternoon into Friday. Meanwhile, upper-level impulses over the Southeast will show signs of weaking by Friday. The energy will produce showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Southeast into parts of the Lower Mississippi Valley that will extend into parts of the Central Appalachians by Thursday evening into Friday morning. In addition, upper-level energy over California will move eastward to the Southern/Central Rockies by Friday. The energy will produce showers and thunderstorms from parts of the Sierras in California to the Central High Plains that will end over California and most of the Great Basin by Friday morning. The showers and thunderstorms will continue over parts of the Central/Southern Rockies and Central High Plains through Friday. Another front over Western Canada/Northern Pacific will move onshore over the Pacific Northwest on Thursday and move to parts of the Northern High Plains/Northern Rockies by Friday.
