Multiple waves of low pressure will travel along a quasi-stationary front extending roughly from the Mid-Atlantic westward to the Central/Southern High Plains through Friday. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along and near the boundary over the Ohio Valley/Great Lakes that will expand eastward into the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic by Thursday evening. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along and near the front from the Central High Plains to the Mid-Atlantic on Friday. In addition, upper-level energy over the Northern High Plains will move southeastward to the Middle Mississippi Valley by Friday. The energy will produce showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Northern/Central High Plains on Thursday morning moving to the Northern/Central Plains by Thursday evening. Meanwhile, upper-level energy over the Southeast will aid in producing shower and thunderstorms over parts of the Southeast and the Eastern Gulf Coast on Thursday and Friday. Furthermore, another area of upper-level energy and diurnal heating will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Southern/Central Rockies during the late afternoon and evening on Thursday and Friday.
