A front extending from the Carolina Coast westward to the Lower Mississippi Valley will be quasi-stationary through Friday. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along and near the boundary from parts of the Lower/Middle Mississippi Valley to the Southeast through Friday morning. By Friday evening the showers and thunderstorms will be confined mainly to the Southeast. A second front over the Northern High Plains will slowly move eastward to the Upper Mississippi Valley/Central Plains by Friday evening. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along and ahead of the front from parts of the Northern Plains to the Northern Rockies/Great Basin on Thursday morning. The showers and thunderstorms will slowly wane over the Great Basin/Northern Rockies by Friday morning. As the boundary moves eastward, showers and thunderstorms will develop over parts of the Northern/Central Plains by Thursday evening while expanding into the Upper Great Lakes by Friday evening. Elsewhere, weakening monsoonal moisture and daytime heating will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Southern/Central Rockies and the Southwest through Friday morning. In addition, another front moving onshore over the Pacific Northwest on Friday will produce scattered rain over parts of the Northwest Coast by Friday evening. Additionally, upper-level energy moving over the Northeast will trigger scattered rain showers on Friday over parts of Northern New England.
