Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 426 PM EDT Sun Aug 30 2015 Valid 00Z Mon Aug 31 2015 - 00Z Wed Sep 02 2015 ...Heavy rain possible over parts of the Pacific Northwest... ...Heavy rain possible over parts of the Southeast Coast... Showers and thunderstorms will develop over the Southeast as warm moist air streams in under an upper-level disturbance. More widespread convection with higher intensity will focus around coastal areas; primarily along South Carolina, Georgia and South Florida. Flash flooding may occur in these areas through early Tuesday morning. An expansive frontal system; draped from Quebec to Manitoba, south through the Northern Plains and into the Great Basin, will generate scattered showers and thunderstorm through Tuesday evening for much of the Desert southwest, Central and Northern Plains, Southern Canada and Western Great Lakes region. A few isolated areas may have higher rainfall intensities, however, excessive amounts nor flash flooding is expected with this system. A strong trough off the Pacific Northwest Coast will keep much of Pacific Northwest Coast in a wet pattern through Tuesday evening. Areas of heavy rain will align along the coast over the next few days. Temperatures associated with this feature will be closer to a Fall pattern. Isolated snow showers will be possible for areas of higher terrain in British Columbia; otherwise, rain showers and steady rain is expected. Monsoonal moisture and daytime heating will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over part of the Southern/Central Rockies and parts of the Southwest/Great Basin over the next couple of days.
