Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 405 PM EDT Thu Sep 24 2015 Valid 00Z Fri Sep 25 2015 - 00Z Sun Sep 27 2015 ...Heavy rain possible for parts of the Southeast and Southern Mid-Atlantic... ...Temperatures will be 15 to 25 degrees above average over parts of the Northern/Central Rockies and the Northern High Plains into parts of the Great Basin... Upper-level energy over the Central Plains will slowly drift southwestward to the Southern Plains by Saturday morning. Moisture will be pooling around the disturbance aiding in the development of showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Central Plains and into parts of the Middle Missouri Valley through Friday afternoon. Meanwhile, an upper-level low over the Southeast will slowly move northwestward to the Tennessee/Southwestern Ohio Valleys by Saturday. Moisture streaming inland off the Atlantic over the Southeast/Southern Mid-Atlantic will aid in producing rain over the Southern Mid-Atlantic/Southeast that will expand westward into parts of the Central/Southern Appalachians as well as the Southern Ohio and Tennessee Valleys by Saturday. Showers and thunderstorms will also develop over parts of Florida and the Eastern Gulf Coast. In addition, onshore flow off the Western Gulf of Mexico will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Western Gulf Coast through Saturday. A front moving onshore over the Pacific Northwest will move inland to the Northern High Plains to parts of Northern California by Saturday morning. A plum of moisture will move into the Pacific Northwest Coast producing light rain along the Northwest Coast through Friday morning.
