A quasi-stationary front will linger near the East and Gulf Coast through Friday. Moisture rich air will pool along the boundary aiding in the development of rain from the Northeast to the Southern Mid-Atlantic and Central Appalachians/Eastern Ohio Valley through Friday. Likewise, showers and thunderstorms will develop over parts of the Central Gulf Coast to the Southeast, ending over the Central Gulf Coast by Thursday morning while continuing over the Southeast through Friday. Meanwhile, an upper-level trough will move onshore over the West Coast moving inland to the Great Basin and Northern/Central Rockies by Friday morning. Moisture from the Western Gulf of Mexico will move northward over the Plains and move northwestward into the Northern Rockies/Great Basin on Thursday into Friday. Similarly, a plume of moisture from the Pacific will move inland over Northern California into the Great Basin on Wednesday evening into Thursday morning. The moisture and upper-level energy will aid in developing showers and thunderstorms over parts of Central/Northern California into the Great Basin/Northern Rockies on Wednesday evening into Thursday. The showers and thunderstorms will expand over parts of the Northern/Central Plains by Friday, while waning over California.
