Heavy rain will continue to bare down on this region yielding an additional 3 to 10 inches, with north-central Texas likely exceeding 12 inches by Sunday evening. Light snow will be possible in the higher elevations of the Colorado Rockies. The widespread convection will expand to the Northern Plains, north of the warm front, and then shift to the Midwest by Friday evening. The showers and thunderstorm activity will continue on Friday from the Mid-Mississippi valley to the southern plains. The cold front will move offshore of the Northeast by late tonight. Precipitation associated with this front may linger into Friday morning as a mix of rain and snow for northern New England. Campbell Graphics available at www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov/basicwx/basicwx_wbg.php
