A complex storm over the Upper Great Lakes will move northeastward to Northeastern Canada by Friday. In the warm sector, along the Eastern Seaboard, rain with a chance of embedded thunderstorm will develop from the Lower Great Lakes to the Northeast and southward to parts of the Lower Mississippi Valley/Southeast that will quickly lift northward to parts of the Northeast/Northern Mid-Atlantic by Thursday morning. Rain will continue along the associated front extending from parts of the Northern Appalachians roughly southwestward to the Central Gulf Coast that will move off the East Coast by Thursday evening. Additional upper-level energy over the Northern Plains into the Upper Great Lakes will move eastward off the Northeast Coast by Friday. The energy will produce some rain/snow mixed over parts of the Upper Mississippi Valley on Wednesday night. Rain will develop over parts of the Upper Great Lakes into parts of the Ohio Valley that will gradually reduce in areal coverage to the Great Lakes by Thursday morning. The rain will move eastward and continue to decrease in areal coverage to parts of the Lower Great Lakes and Northern New England by Friday morning. A deep upper-level trough moving onshore over the West Coast will move inland and develop an upper-level low over the Southwest and Northwest Mexico by Friday. The system will produce rain over the Pacific Northwest/Northern California inland to parts of the Northern Rockies/Great Basin on Wednesday evening. The rain will expand into parts of the Central/Southern Rockies and the Southwest by Thursday morning. Light snow will develop over parts of the highest peaks of the Northern/Central Rockies on Wednesday and Thursday night. As the upper-level low develops, the storm will pull moisture off the Western Gulf of Mexico that will aid in the development of showers and thunderstorms over part of the Southern Plains into parts of the Southern Rockies on Thursday into Friday. Rain will also develop over parts of the Central Plains by Friday morning. In addition, onshore flow off the Pacific will aid in producing rain over the Pacific Northwest into parts of the Northern Rockies on Thursday into Friday morning.
