Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 221 AM EST Sat Nov 07 2015 Valid 12Z Sat Nov 07 2015 - 12Z Mon Nov 09 2015 ...Heavy rain possible for parts of the Pacific Northwest... High pressure over the Central Rockies will move roughly eastward to the Mid-Atlantic by Sunday evening. A front along the leading edge of the associated cold air, on the eastern side of the high pressure, extending from the Mid-Atlantic Coast to the Lower Mississippi Valley will move southeastward to Northern Florida by Sunday. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along the boundary from parts of Texas eastward to the Southern Appalachians and parts of the Southeast will subside to the southern portions of Florida by Sunday evening. Rain will develop along parts of the front over the Southern Mid-Atlantic and linger over parts of the Southeast to parts of the Tennessee Valley and the Eastern Gulf Coast likewise by Sunday evening. In addition, upper-level energy will move over the Great Lakes triggering scattered light rain over the area through Sunday morning. Meanwhile, a front just off the Pacific Northwest Coast will move inland to the Northern High Plains to parts of the Great Basin and Central California by Sunday evening. A plume of moisture will accompany the front to the Northwest Coast and slowly move southward along the coast to Central California by Sunday. The system will produce rain along the Pacific Northwest Coast that will move inland to parts of the Northern Rockies and southward into Central California. Snow will also develop over parts of the higher elevations of the Northern Rockies into parts of the Sierras in California on Sunday.
