A front over the West Coast will slowly move inland to the Great Basin/Northern Rockies and the Northern Plains by Monday evening. The associated deep upper-level trough will also move inland over the West Coast by Monday. Rain will develop along the West Coast from Central California to the Pacific Northwest. The rain will expand southward into Southern California by Sunday evening and eastward to parts of the Northern/Central Rockies and Northern High Plains by Monday. In addition, snow will develop over parts of the Northern/Central Rockies and the higher elevations of parts of the Great Basin and California on Monday. The heaviest snow will be over the Northern Rockies and the Sierras. Meanwhile, low pressure will develop along the front over the Gulf Coast that will move from the Central Gulf Coast to the Eastern Gulf Coast by Monday. The associated boundary will move into the Southeast by Monday evening. High moisture content air from the Gulf of Mexico and later the Atlantic will overrun the front producing showers and thunderstorms along the Central and Eastern Gulf Coast through Monday. Rain will develop farther inland over parts of the Tennessee Valley and the Southeast on Sunday that will move into parts of the Southern Ohio Valley and the Southern Mid-Atlantic on Monday.
