A quasi-stationary front extending from the Mid-Atlantic to the Lower Mississippi Valley/Western Gulf Coast will inch along to Southern Mid-Atlantic to parts of the Tennessee Valley and the Lower Mississippi Valley by Monday morning. Moisture from the Gulf of Mexico will pool along the boundary producing rain from the Southern Plains to parts of the Mid-Atlantic through Monday. The rain will move into parts of the Southeast on Sunday. On the north side of the front, freezing rain/rain will develop from parts of the Central Plains into Iowa through Monday. Likewise, slightly farther north of the boundary, snow will develop from parts of the Central High Plains into the Middle Missouri Valley from late Sunday night into Monday. In addition, scattered light snow may develop over parts of the Great Basin into the Northern Rockies. Meanwhile, easterly flow off the Atlantic will aid in producing scattered light rain along the east coast of Florida through Monday.
