Upper-level energy over California and the Texas panhandle will move northeastward to Western Ohio Valley and the Southern Plains/Southern Rockies by Friday evening. Rain and higher elevation snow will develop from California eastward to Central/Southern Rockies that will end over California and parts of the Great Basin/Southwest by Friday evening. Additionally, snow will develop over parts of the Northern Rockies/Northern High Plains through Friday. Meanwhile, snow will develop over parts of the Upper Great Lakes/Upper Mississippi Valley through Friday evening. As energy moves from the Central Plains to the Western Ohio Valley on Thursday into Friday, snow will develop over parts of the Central Plains lifting into parts of the Middle Mississippi Valley continuing through Friday evening. In addition, a plume of moisture from the Gulf of Mexico will move steadily eastward to the Southeast/Mid-Atlantic Coast by Friday evening. Associated energy over the Southern Plains will move northeastward to parts of the Northeast by Friday. The energy will work with the moisture to produce rain and embedded thunderstorms over parts of the Southern/Central Plains and the Lower/Middle Mississippi Valley that will likewise move eastward to the Southeast/Mid-Atlantic by Friday. Rain will also move into parts of the Ohio Valley/Lower Great Lakes and the Central/Northern Appalachians Thursday evening into Friday evening. Furthermore, another area of rain with embedded thunderstorms will develop over parts of the Southern Plains by Friday evening.
