Low pressure over Southeastern Canada and the Northeast of the U. S. will move northeastward to Labrador by Thursday. The system will produce snow over parts of the Northeast through late Wednesday night. In the wake of the storm, cold air and upper-level energy moving over the Great Lakes will produce lake effect snow downwind from the Great Lakes through Thursday morning. A storm moving onshore over the West Coast will move eastward to the Plains by Thursday. The system will produce rain along the West Coast from Washington State to Central California and snow at higher elevations over the interior Northwest and Northern/Central California through Thursday morning. Overnight Tuesday, snow will begin to develop over the Northern Intermountain Region and the Northern Rockies through Thursday morning. Elsewhere, upper-level energy racing over the Northern Plains to the Mid-Atlantic will aid in producing light snow over parts of the Northern Plains late Tuesday night that will move into parts of the Upper Mississippi Valley/Upper Great Lakes through late Wednesday night. In addition, when the storm coming onshore over the West Coast emerges onto the Plains, snow will develop over parts of the Northern Plains into the Upper Mississippi Valley early Thursday morning into Thursday.
