Strong storm over the Southeast will move northward along the coastline to the Mid-Atlantic by late Friday night then the system will move northeasterly out over the Western Atlantic on Saturday into Sunday morning. Rain will develop over parts of the Southeast to parts of the Southern Mid-Atlantic on Friday evening. Along the rain/snow transition line ... areas of rain/freezing rain will develop over parts of the Southern Mid-Atlantic through late Friday night. The rain over the Southern Mid-Atlantic will change over to snow by Saturday evening ending by Sunday morning. In addition, snow will develop from parts of the Southeast/Tennessee Valley and the Ohio Valley northeastward to the Mid-Atlantic on Friday evening. The snow will end west to east over the area Saturday evening into Sunday morning. Meanwhile, a deep upper-level trough over the Eastern Pacific will move onshore over the West Coast traveling to the Northern Rockies/Great Basin by Sunday morning. The system will produce rain along the Pacific Northwest Coast to Central California Coast and rain and snow at higher elevations inland through Sunday. Snow and lower elevation rain will develop over parts of the Northern Intermountain Region/Northern Rockies through late Friday night. As the storm moves inland, snow will return to the Northern Intermountain Region and the Northern Rockies Saturday morning through Sunday.
