Rain will develop along and ahead of an advancing cold front over the Ohio/Tennessee Valley and the Southeast. Rainfall intensity will likely be stronger over Florida on Wednesday which may result in flash flooding. An Excessive Rainfall Outlook has been issued for central and south Florida. The northern flank of this front will pass through the Great Lakes region and the Northeast, spreading a mix of rain and freezing rain to the area. Freezing Rain Advisories are in effect from the West Virginia panhandle to upstate New York- up to 0.10 inch of ice may be possible. A secondary system plunging south from Canada in the wake of the first system will usher in colder air to the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes. Snow will spread across the region. Accumulations up to 6 inches will be common, with 6 to 12 inches possible for northern Michigan and downwind of Lake Erie in New York. Winter Weather advisories are in effect from northeast Iowa to northeast Wisconsin. A weakening front will move over parts of the Pacific Northwest bringing rain to coastal areas and snow at higher elevations in the Cascades. A second front will approach the Northwest Coast by Wednesday morning producing more rain over parts of the Pacific Northwest.
