A deep upper-level low over the Great Lakes will slowly weaken and move to New England by Wednesday evening. Energy rotating around the upper low will aid in producing snow from the Great Lakes to parts of the Ohio Valley as well as the Central/Southern Appalachians extending into the Northeast and parts of the Northern Mid-Atlantic through Wednesday evening. In addition, rain will develop over parts of the Southern Mid-Atlantic Coast through Wednesday morning. Meanwhile, low pressure over West-Central Canada will move southeastward to the Central/Southern Plains by Wednesday evening. The system will produce snow over parts of the Northern Plains on Tuesday afternoon that will likewise move southeastward to parts of the Middle/Upper Mississippi Valley by Wednesday evening. Additionally, an approaching front over the Northern Pacific will bring moisture to the Northwest Coast late Tuesday night into Wednesday night. With an upper-level ridge over the West Coast, snow levels will be very high. The moisture will aid in producing rain over parts of the Pacific Northwest from Wednesday morning into Thursday.
