Multiple upper-level disturbances over the eastern half of the country will come together form a deep upper-level trough over the eastern third of the country by Tuesday evening into Wednesday. Low pressure over the Lower Mississippi Valley will move northeastward to the Lower Great Lakes by Tuesday afternoon. The system will produce rain/freezing rain over parts of the Southern Mid-Atlantic through late Monday night. Rain/freezing rain will also develop over parts of Northern New England on Tuesday morning that will move into Southeastern Canada by Tuesday afternoon. In addition, snow will develop over parts of the Northern Mid-Atlantic that will move into parts of the Lower Great Lakes/Northeast by Monday evening into the parts of Northern New England by Tuesday morning. Rain will develop over parts of the Lower Mississippi Valley into parts of the Southern Ohio Valley and the Southeast on Monday evening. The rain will move eastward off the Mid-Atlantic/Southeast Coast by Tuesday evening. Additionally, the rain will move northward into the Lower Great Lakes/Northeast by Tuesday morning off the Northern New England Coast by Wednesday morning. On the backside of the precipitation shield, the rain will change over to snow over parts of the Lower Great Lakes/Ohio Valley by Tuesday evening. Likewise, the snow will move into parts of Northern New England by late Tuesday night. Meanwhile, another system over the Northern Plains will move southeastward to the Carolinas by early Wednesday morning. The storm will produce snow and rain over parts of the Northern Plains into parts of the Northern Intermountain Region that will move to the Middle Mississippi Valley by Tuesday morning that will change over to rain over the Tennessee Valley by Tuesday evening. The rain will slowly dissipate over parts of the Southern Appalachians by Wednesday morning. Elsewhere, onshore flow off the Pacific will aid in producing rain over parts of the Pacific Northwest through Tuesday evening. Overnight Tuesday, an approaching front over the Northern Pacific will bring a plume of moisture over the Northwest. The moisture will aid in producing rain over parts of the Northwest on Wednesday.
