A quasi-stationary front extending from the Northeast southwestward to the Western Gulf Coast will slowly sink southward to the Carolinas to the Lower Mississippi Valley/Southern Plains by Saturday. Showers and thunderstorms will develop over parts of the Southern Plains to the Lower Mississippi Valley and parts of the Tennessee Valley that will expand into parts of the Southeast/Southern Appalachians on Friday. In addition, the showers and thunderstorms will lift into parts of the Middle Mississippi Valley and the northern Southern Plains/Central Plains by Saturday, while continuing over the Lower Mississippi Valley into parts of the Southern Ohio Valley/Southern Appalachians into the Carolinas. Rain will also develop along the front from the Northeast to the Western Ohio Valley/Middle Mississippi Valley that will slowly move off the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Coast by Friday afternoon. Meanwhile, multiple front over the Western U. S. and new fronts moving onshore will inland to the Rockies while another front will move onshore over the Pacific Northwest Coast by Saturday.
