An upper-level low over the Northwest will sink southward to the Great Basin/Central Rockies by Tuesday. The system will produce rain along parts of the Pacific Northwest and the northern California coast through Monday evening. Snow and lower elevation rain will develop over parts of the interior Northwest and extending eastward to the northern High Plains and the Central Rockies, as well as parts of the Southwest on Tuesday. As the system moves eastward, moisture from the western Gulf of Mexico will stream northward over the Plains Monday night and into Tuesday. Showers and thunderstorms will start to develop over parts of Texas on Tuesday afternoon, and expanding in coverage by Tuesday evening.
